Beyond the Anatomy Lab humanities elective is designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage in reflective practice, cultivate emotional resilience, and foster compassion by exploring the themes of death and dying through a humanities lens. By integrating discussions of mortality and exploring difficult emotions surrounding death into the curriculum, students will be equipped with the necessary tools to navigate the emotional challenges they will encounter throughout their careers. The course will include interactive lectures and workshops with experienced physicians, a “narrative medicine” workshop, and the opportunity to prepare contributions to present at the Donor Memorial Ceremony.
