MED 3500: Medical Knowledge Application

Program
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM)
Credits 4

This course is designed to provide the student with support to prepare to retake a COMLEX Level 1 fail and/or NBME Subject Exam retry.

Note: Students must take COMLEX Level I exam prior to beginning of OMSIII year. Students are allowed to begin OMSIII coursework pending COMLEX Level 1 score reporting. Students who fail the COMLEX Level 1 while on OMSIII clinical clerkship will be enrolled in MED 3500 following the completion of their Clerkship. As stated elsewhere, students failing COMLEX 1 will be unable to begin additional clerkships until receiving a passing COMLEX Level 1 score. These students may benefit from the enhanced work with a Learning Specialist in the MED 3500 course in order to better prepare for COMLEX Level 1.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite: Successful completion of OMS II requirements, failed initial attempt of COMLEX Level 1 and Clinical Education department approval.
