MIL 5043: Military Medicine III

Military Medicine 5043 is the third of four foundational courses of the Military Medicine Program. The course builds upon the introduction provided in Military Medicine 5041 and 5042.  It covers topics such as military customs and courtesies, leadership, professionalism, ethics, military environments, field exercises, disaster response, combat casualty care, and triage/evacuation in combat environments on land, sea and air.   During this semester students will focus on honing their knowledge and performance of lifesaving medical principles and interventions used in combat environments. Military Expert guests, military officers, and appropriate civilian physicians and teachers will be hosted virtually and on campuses.  This course serves as the prerequisite for Mil Med 4010, Intensive Surgical and Trauma Skills.
