The Cardiovascular System II course is an intensive multidisciplinary course structured with the goal of enabling the students to obtain the requisite knowledge necessary to understand the pathophysiology, pharmacology, and clinical medicine of the cardiovascular system.  After completion of the course, each student will be able to recognize the presenting signs and symptoms of various cardiovascular diseases and be able to ascertain and differentiate the various entities involved in cardiac health and disease, with an eye to the treatment of various cardiovascular disorders. Various aspects of evaluating cardiac patients will be presented, with special emphasis on interpretation of EKGs.  Interprofessional Education is an integrated component of this course. Opportunities are provided to learn about and/or practice communication, teamwork, roles and responsibilities, and values and ethics.
